If you enjoy an old fashioned space shoot ’em up (despite the obvious contradiction in terms), mark January 12th on your calendar. That’s when 10tons Limited will be releasing the iOS version Xenoraid, “… an exciting shooter game with classic action and modern features.”

Intercept the alien threat in missions that play out differently every time. Pilot skillfully to line up devastating bursts of fire. Switch between four fighters during combat to bring in the best weapons for each situation. Upgrade, repair and enhance your squadron between missions. Bring down huge alien capital ships in hectic bossfights. Put your skills to the ultimate test in three endless survival missions with online leaderboards!

Additional features include:

  • No level memorization
  • Master advanced shooting mechanics like fighter tilting and weapon heat
  • Fight through a Campaign mode with more than 40 missions and four boss fights
  • Play all game modes in 2-4 player local co-op

Sound cool? If you’re unsure, Xenoraid will be free to download, but you’ll be limited to the first ten levels and one of the three endless survival levels. Also, you’ll have to watch some video ads. Via IAP, however, you can unlock the full game (around 50 levels and two more survival options), and remove the ads. That’ll cost you $9.99 (same price as the PC version in Steam), but you can grab it for only $4.99 through January 25th.

An Apple TV version is in the works, but is not expected to launch on January 12th.
