Where is Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy for Mac?

Unlike you, I’m totally burnt out on super-hero movies of the Marvel/DC ilk. The same can be said of super-hero video games, to a lesser degree.

Like you, however, I absolutely loved Guardians of the Galaxy, and I’m ready now to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. That won’t happen until May 5th, and it looks like I’ll also have to wait for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy – The Telltale Series to hit the Mac.

Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series

Episode One – Tangled Up in Blue was released April 18th for Windows, and although the press release stated the Mac version would be available then, too, it’s curiously absent from Steam and GOG. Telltale promised an iOS version later this week (likely on Thursday, as is the way of things), so we’ll see if they hold true to that statement, at least.

We’ve reached out to Telltale via email and Twitter regarding the Mac version, but have yet to get a response. Considering we’ve been waiting over eight months for the Mac version of Batman – The Telltale Series, I have a feeling we’ll be watching the Vol. 2 Blu-ray before we’re playing The Telltale Series on the Mac.

Here’s what you can expect when the Mac version finally does get released:

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest Super Heroes: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of them has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.

From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, you wear the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, where your decisions and actions drive the story you experience.

I’m amused by “…to the beat of awesome music,” as if other games would suggest their music sucks by comparison. Granted, that may be true in this case, so let’s watch the trailer to find out.

Jury’s still out, but it’s good to see adult Groot again.

All episodes of Guardians of the Galaxy – The Telltale Series will be available for console as a special “Season Pass Disc’ on May 2nd at retailers across North America for an MSRP of $29.99 USD, but no word of a boxed version for Mac has been announced…not that we’d be able to trust it, anyway.
