Torn Tales

Torn Tales will be told on the Mac this month

Okay, you may think the grouping of Robin Hood, Snow White, and Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde sounds like the premise of a bad SyFy channel series, but no. It’s a game. An RPG, in fact. And that’s exactly the kind of thing the genre needs to lift us out of the villager-leaves-farm-saves-world trope to which we’re accustomed.

Even better that neither Disney nor Kevin Costner are involved with the characters this time around. Rather, you will lead Robin, Snow, and the good Dr. (bad Mr.) on their quest to repair the torn pages of folklore. The evil Bookbinder has destroyed the tales you love, and has bound enemies from across the fabled lands to stop you. You’ll have to hack and slash your way through them in order to survive and save the land.

In Torn Tales you will also:

Master a rich tree of abilities to upgrade your characters. Choose load-outs that maximise your team’s total fighting potential. Swap lead character in combat to battle harder. Explore the lands of lore & fable, collecting loot with a vast array of variations from Geppetto’s Gold Ring of Shielding to Ahab’s Amulet of Fury.

Hone your skills and try out new ability combos in the endless Arena mode. See how you compare to the best players in the world through the global leaderboards.

Torn Tales will release on Steam Tuesday, January 17th, for Mac, Linux and Windows. The retail price of $12.99 is on discount by 20% from now until then.

About The Author

is greatly looking forward to the day when he no longer cares about Apple, games, and gaming technology. But right now he does, and he loves to talk about them, just as he's been doing on the web since 1998. He can otherwise be spotted as that one guy in Ohio wearing a Minnesota North Stars hockey sweater. Kirk has a wife and three kids, and is a generally happy fellow.
