Link Twin from Carbon Incubator combines a maze with spatial problem solving, then wraps it all up with cute graphics and an ethereal soundtrack.
Tom and Lily are twins with an unbreakable connection—whenever one of them moves, so does the other. You need to get both of them safely home, and that involves navigating both twins to the portals that lead off each increasingly difficult boards…but they must both reach the portal at the same time.
Caution is needed; there are obstacles, you can fall off the board, and there are puzzles you need to solve by properly moving barriers into place. Luckily there’s a restart feature, as it’s all too easy to wind up in an impossible situation.
- Great ambient soundtrack (follow the app’s advice and listen with headphones)
- Easy to learn controls
- Challenging puzzles that take a surprising amount of brainpower
- Excellent scoring system—it follows golf, where you get a score based on the number of moves, with additional credit provided for completing the puzzle in the lowest suggested number of moves
- This game can get get difficult quickly. It’s rated at for ages 4 and up, but could easily be too difficult for younger kids.
So Here It Is
Link Twin is a great way to spend a few minutes—or a few hours—stretching your brain. It serves up challenging puzzles in cute packaging, but definitely favors older players.
