Moshi announces Avanti on-ear headphones at CES
CES is going on this week in Las Vegas, and that means a ton of new gadgets are going to be unveiled…some of which may actually make it into production! Most of this stuff is directly related to the Mac and iOS gamer, but do you know what is? Headphones. Whether you’re gaming on your iMac, MacBook, or any iOS device, you know the auditory experience is pretty awful without some help, and Moshi is soon to provide that help with their Avanti on-ear headphones.
Coming this spring, the Avantis will provide “… clear sonic detail in the mids/highs and warm, comfortable bass …” via high-resolution 40 mm neodymium drivers. More specifically, Avanti features:
- HD40 neodymium drivers (40 mm)
- Impedance: 32ΩFrequency
- Response: 15 Hz-20kHz / -10dB@1kHz
- Sensitivity: 110dB
Equally important to gamers, however, is comfort, as you’d like the headphones to pretty much feel “not there” during prolonged gaming sessions. To this end:
Angled ear pads are covered in soft vegan leather, built with a supra-aural design for sound isolation. The rotatable stainless steel headband seamlessly adjusts to fit each listener’s comfort level and easily minimizes for storage in its custom carrying case.
Avanti will launch in Spring 2015 in burgundy and caramel beige, and is expected to retail for $200. For more information, visit www.moshi.com.
And while we have you, iPhone/iPad gamers looking for extra power will now be able to get it via the newly updated IonBank portable battery series. Three models will be available in February, all of which will feature Moshi’s new SmartSens™ circuitry, which enables simultaneous charging of both the IonBank and the connected device. In other words, you can play your game right up until it’s time to leave, and still be sure that your battery is powered up and ready to go.
Your choices are:
- IonBank 3K (3,200 mAh): Delivers 120 percent additional battery life to your iPhone 6s. (MSRP: $65)
- IonBank 5K (5,150 mAh): Triple your iPhone 6s battery life. (MSRP: $80)
- IonBank 10K (10,300 mAh): Created for the heavy power user, this one delivers enough juice to fully recharge an iPad Air 2 or add 4x battery life to an iPhone 6s. (MSRP: $100)
