Black Friday

A lot of people hate Black Friday. I don’t, mainly for the same reason I don’t hate piranha attacks and Pentatonix concerts; just stay home, and the pain is easily avoided.

To help you do the same this Friday (or this week, considering many of the deals are already running), we’re rounding up the best online deals for Mac and iPhone gamers, be they software or hardware related. Whether you’re just looking for some good new games or some great new hardware on which to play them, keep checking this space as we update the deals throughout the week.

Macintosh Games

  • New – Feral Interactive just announced Thief for Mac, and already you can get it at 75% off. That deal and 50% off every single digital download game they offer are only available through November 30th, so get to it.
  • Sales? Contests? G5 is thanking everyone differently by simply giving away a game this week! Through November 29th, simply head on over to the Mac App Store to get The Cursed Ship: Collector’s Edition for free (normally $6.99).
•’s Only On GOG bundle sales are heavy on the PC side, but even if you can’t play all the games in the bundles, you’re still getting deals. Only six of the ten games in the D&D Classic Bundle are Mac compatible, for example, but you can buy them individually and get the same savings, providing you do so by November 29th.
  • GameAgent’s Autumn Sale kicks off on Monday, November 23, and goes through Monday, November 30. There are three steps you’ll need to take to get to the good stuff, but those simple steps will lead you to all kinds of great deals from myriad sources, including games such as Homeworld Remastered, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, and Alien: Isolation.

Macintosh Hardware

  • NewRamJet has a few deals to give your Mac an extra boost to its gaming power. Through Cyber Monday, you’ve got three checkout codes to get you some decent savings: MEMORY for 10% off all Mac memory, SSD for 15% off all Mac SSDs, and MACS for $100 off an upgraded Mac.
  • New – Twelve South is offering 50% off eight products of use to Mac, iPhone and iPad gamers (display and protection) today only. Enter BFDEAL2015 at checkout to get your savings.
  • That powerful MacBook of yours won’t help you game if you can’t take it with you. As such, you may want to pay a visit to the House of Marley on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to get 50% off their line of laptop bags.
  • Black Friday has turned into Black November for PowerMax, as they’re offering the best prices of the year on almost two dozen models of Macintosh, plus another couple of dozen specials on some of the best gifts you can give others… or yourself. Head on over to save up to $210 on a new Mac. We plan to!

iPhone/iPad Games

  • New – Starting on Black Friday and running through Thursday, December 3rd, every one of G5‘s top 25 games will be on sale at up to 80% off on the App Store. Plus, on Black Friday only, they’re offering special in-game deals in their free-to-play games for iOS.
  • That free copy of The Cursed Ship: Collector’s Edition from G5? It’s available for iPhone or iPad, too.
  • Black Friday deals are even starting to carry over into in-game currency, it would seem. On Friday, November 27, Final Fantasy: Record Keeper players will have the chance to purchase a Lucky Relic Draw at half price. The 5-star drops in this Relic Draw are always Unique Soul Break equipment from earlier draws and events. In addition, any player who logs into the game on Black Friday will be gifted 25 Mythril.
  • Up until Black Friday, DotEmu is discounting their mobile games by 50%. This includes some excellent titles such as Karateka ($0.99), Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition ($1.99), and The Last Express ($2.99).

iPhone/iPad Hardware

  • New – Through November 29th, you can save 35% off your SkinIt order by using code BLACK at checkout.
  • New – Enter BLKFRIDAY at checkout to receive 30% off your order from Nuvango. The offer lasts until Sunday, November 29th at 11:59pm ET, and is good for all of their iPhone and iPad skins and cases. A portion of each sale goes to the artist you created your selected design.
  • iPad gaming may be a bit awkward with iBallz, but you won’t regret your purchase when you drop it during an intense gaming session, especially when you only paid $9.95.
  • Slickwraps has a crazy sale coming up that will give you 50% off everything in their store, reward the first 100 customers with $20 in cash, give everyone else the chance to get up to $100 in cash (with a guarantee of at least $1), and send one buyer to CES in Vegas. The eight-hour sale starts at midnight CST on November 27th, and you’ll need to use code BLACKFRIDAY when checking out.
  • From November 26th through November 30th, OtterBox is offering a full lineup of cases to complement the various iPads at various sale prices. From Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday, get 40% off Defender Series, plus 15% off all other tablet cases.
  • Brydge has plenty of iPad keyboard cases and other accessories on sale through midnight, November 30th. Now, if only there was a way to use those keyboards when playing iPad games…
  • Kanex is offering up to 60% off a wide array of products through November 30th, and throwing in free shipping to boot. That includes iPad charging stations, iOS battery packs, and plenty more to keep your gaming sessions active.
  • For the first time ever, the majority of Walmart’s Black Friday deals will be available on beginning at 12:01 a.m. PT on Thanksgiving morning. Then, Black Friday will begin in stores at 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Why bother pointing this out? Because it includes an iPad Air 2 Gold 16GB Wi-Fi for $399 ($100 savings) as part of their One-Hour Guarantee.
