Knights of Pen & Paper 2 gets free expansion

There are niche games, and there are niches games about niches, and that’s where you’ll find Knights of Pen & Paper. An RPG about people playing RPGs, Knights of Pen & Paper is so meta that I doubt even Joss Weden would know what to do with it (unless it had lesbians, of course…dude loves himself the all girl action).

Released in 2013, Knights of Pen & Paper developed quite a following, leading to the 2015 release of Knights & Pen & Paper 2 and two subsequent expansions: Fist of +1 Fury and Here Be Dragons. And now, Paradox Interactive has announced the latest free expansion—Back to the Source—available for Mac and iOS gamers. The expansion provides access to “… two new character classes, higher skill caps, an all-new mega-dungeon, and plenty of other RPG-related words, completely free of charge.”

If you haven’t played Knights of Pen & Paper 2 yet, no worries. The new “Deluxiest Edition of Knights of Pen & Paper 2” is also available, and includes the core game, all three expansions, and a wealth of bonus content that includes:

  • An epic mount to carry you through your mounting epic
  • An art book for the true pixel connoisseur
  • An exclusive in-game location: The Grinding Farm
  • A 14-song Soundtrack, full of tunes best experienced with chips

The Deluxiest Edition can be purchased via Steam or directly from Paradox Interactive for $14.99. For more information, visit
